When I first heard the word blogs ; I honestly did not know what the  word mean it. I had to looked it the dictionary in order to understood what the word mean.  It could sound silly or ridiculous for new generations that are engaged with new technology , cells phones, I pods, face book  and other technology medias to communicate with others. I'm continuously  learning  new computer programs and how to use it . For example, save documents and other kind of things that are use full to complete a school assignment . I had to learn book keeping , and pay roll on  computer , which was a challenge , but I did it. When I  had to do Blogs at first I took a deep breath and try to figured out how to do it. It was  challenge that I was able to over come after 2 hrs of trying how to log in and to edit one.

I found out the blocks were not as hard as I though , actually they are fun , during this assignment I also learned , how to add images and videos which I  really enjoy do it.  Logging into my peers blog give me an inside of  their personality and learn interesting things about the moon, recipes and videos . Now , I'm thank full for this assignment, because I learn a new skill .

 

 

 

Coming from Souther California near the cost . Sunsets walk on the beach was one of the most relaxing walks.

But I also  found out that Arizona has this beautiful and colorful sunsets that I enjoy every time I have  chance to walk in the afternoon by the quiet and  cotton fields in my neighborhood.

The more sophisticated and advance technology the more children need to learn about it. Education has to advance and be update with technology. The reality is that no matter what grade the student is, they need to be expose to new technology . The new jobs required higher education and knowledge of technology devices. But I also think that it should be a balance of the old teaching method where one of one contact is need it and technology could be used  to expand their education. Computer and internet are excellent  combination and source of material that children can use to obtain information on specific topic with out reading a lot  ,or spending long hours writing  to complete a writing assignment. Is hard to imagine that our children future will be less human base and more technology. Are really prepared for this advance technology?

During spring time all our family work together in putting together a vegetable garden. The older boys dig and mix the soil and the small  children one plant the seeds. This being a  kind of tradition for the past 10 years. Every year the garden gets a little bigger.  I would like to share this Pico de Gallo  recipe one of  a traditional  Mexican salsa.

                      

INGREDIENTS

3 tomatoes, chopped

1/2 cup finely diced onion

5 serrano chiles, finely chopped

• 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons lime juice

Entry#3

Watching the film Food , Inc. Make me reflect on what we eat . Are we really eating healthy.  After seeing how farmers used large amounts of fertilizer and pesticides to grow their corps make me realize that healthy foods is not as healthy as it appears. We are not only eating vegetables with nutrients and fertilizers that are affecting our health. The high cost of organic foods makes hard for families of low income to obtain .Than has no choice that consume cheaper food that in many cases are poor quality. But  families do what they have to do to feed their families . Big corporations are the only one who profits form it , because they do not really care of the quality and standards used on the farming, processing or delivering of products to groceries stores.

Their main concern is to provide food to costumers. On the other hand the high increase of population  demands more food and the only way to keep up with the high demand . Sadly but true farmers have to follow corporation guidelines on how they farm in order to keep up with the demand and maintain a contract with the company.  Forgetting  in many cases ethical standards. Through the years farm workers union had working  hard with big corporations to implement  safe ways to use fertilizers used on their corps.
The cruelty on how animals are treated  is only one side of how animals are really treated. They are not longer animals when farmers sign a contract with a company , they become a  number of production.

As population continue growing , big corporation will continue using the same practices and implementing new technology advances to keep up with the demand of food.

Hello my name is Francisca Puente, one thing I enjoy very much are the peace and tranquil sunsets. The same peace I get when I work with children. For the past 20 years I have worked with children. And I love being a pre-school teacher and cant imagine doing something else. I had learn so much from children. I have two children of my own who are the love of my life and keep me motivated. I continue working on my degree in early child education. My professional goal is to become a director of a learning center and become a mentor for new pre-school teachers.
